What Won't Kill You....

What luck! Just returned home after scoring myself a two nights stay at luxury accommodations with the Hotel Hospital RIPAS!

Yup! After successfully managing to dodge the dreaded hospital stay for the last 2 and a half years, my body has once again succumbed to a simple fever and sent me packing.

Started feeling unwell on Sunday, wasn't too sure getting up for work on Monday morning, but after 3 days off due to the National Day public holiday, I didn't want people thinking I was taking advantage of the long weekend, to continue it with a medical leave. However, I was sneezing and sniffling and basically blowing my nose through 2 hours of meeting with the YDM. Nasty! Abis kali sekutak tissue oleh ku. By evening, I felt really bad, and burning up.

Tuesday morning, hubs dropped me off at Ong Sum Ping at 8am, registered and didn't get called in to see someone until about 10.15am!! Promised myself next time I'm ill, I'm going to a private doctor, I don't care what admin says, because after more than 2 hours waiting and feeling miserable, I didn't even get to see a doctor! It was the stupid (sorry, got a bit carried away) community health nurse or whatever he called himself again! I need to see a doctor! So seeing as I was gonna get the same panadol and 1 day medical leave deal again, I gotta say, I kinda bullied the guy a bit and started sprouting shit about my medication changes, my tacrolimus levels and my immunocompromised state and what not... so, in the end he got me to see a doctor. Huhuhu! Sneaky! But a girls gotta take care of herself y'know. I'm surprised something even came out my mouth I was so pissed shit miserable by then....

So, had to wait a bit more, then got called in again to see the doctor. He gave me some attitude though about him having to see me who apparently only had a nuisance of a fever. Sasak pulang ku jua, tapi....ah....malas ku udah. So, in the end, got me 2 days off, some meds and also sent me over to RIPAS for some blood tests, urine culture and chest xray before the lunch rush. So it was a pretty hectic morning for me, when all I wanted to do was just lie down and curl up under the duvet.

Wednesday afternoon, went to see the dr again for the results of yesterday's test, and before I knew it I was being referred to hospital. Went straight to ward 20, didn't even bother to go home first and pack. So, there I was again, having my arm pricked for more blood tests and my hand reintroduced to the lovely iv cannula for my iv antibiotic. The night wasn't any better, what with the non-existent thermostat for the airconditioner, I was effing freezing. Then being rudely woken up with sudden bright lights to have your temperature checked and bp taken. Then again, at god knows what time, to be asked how many times I drank that night and how many times I peed! Good God man! Shouldn't you be asking me that like before I went to sleep!! I couldn't give a bloody &*^£"@%! I thought you're supposed to give the patient a good nights sleep to let them heal faster??!! Like my sister likes to say, 'Sasakku!!'

So, back at home again....can't tell you how good it feels!!! But back to hospital again tomorrow morning, but thankfully, just for another blood test.

Ok, feeling rather crap yesterday. Good thing it was a Public Holiday for Chinese New Year, so it was a double day off, Thursday and Friday, so I pretty much wasted it away sleeping. I don't know, could hardly keep my eyes open...

I really had planned to go out for a birthday dinner and shop for shoes using my 20% off on your birthday deals. Crap... eyes refused.

Anyhu, had a little double celebration at the in-laws with my sis-in-law. So, following are a couple more pressies.

Little Things?

Ok, just completely peeved me off this afternoon, went to FDL to get me sumthin to eat, ordered a Mushroom Quiche, a slice of Carrot Cake and a piece of Apple Strudel. Total bill came around to about $20 after a 10% discount. Ok, didn't think much about it, biasalah, andang jua pricey di FDL atu.

But then, masa sampai di rumah udah, and well into my food, kan membuang plastic packaging apa, I just decided to look through the receipt, sekali I noticed I was charged $13.50 for a piece of Apple Strudel which is only supposed to cost $4.50! Damn! That's $9 over! Sasak jua ku tarus tu meliat.. I couldn't even finish the rest of my carrot cake, tarus ku buang... And this isn't the first time it's happened to me jua. Last time, I ordered a Salmon quiche, sekali I got home, it was a Mushroom quiche, but I still got charged for the salmon quiche price, which was slightly more, okay, so bepuluh-puluh sen pulang ganya, so I didn't kick up a fuss, oh well, ikhlas lah sedakah saja... tips, or whatever u want to call it. Tapi ani, labih udah ni, kalau ku blanja orang di ofis makan kolo mee ayam dari Happy Dean ada jua faedahnya... (Anyhu, after bekusut to the hubby, tarus ditelipunnya di owner lah, said will be refunded... huhu...). So, happier now... thinking now, was I over reacting? Would everyone else just let it go? Should've checked masa di kadai right? Ahh...well, taught me a lesson, next time, membali-bali, check the receipt first!!

Guess just feeling a lil bit hormonal, that time of the month, plus feeling a little karit after withdrawing a huge chunk of my savings to pay for a couple of birthday presents and also to change into pound sterling for upcoming trip to London.... abis duit ku... uwaaa!! Mahal sangat jua duit pound ani ih....

Random to February

So, I finally went for it and ordered a batch of mini cupcakes from a fellow blogger after drooling at her creations for many months. Since we had a function at the in-laws for my brother in law's pre-wedding family meeting/discussion, it was the perfect opportunity.








Aren't they cute? Definitely a hit with the kids, I suppose mainly cos they were tooth-achingly sweet, but oh, I do so love looking at them. They're just at that level of creativity I will never hope to be, heheh, but then again I'm not a baker anyways. Next time I plan to order bigger cupcakes with royal icing, as apparently these are less sweet... hope so... yummmm.....

So, it's February. Birthday time. I already got me a couple of great pressies from my parents and hubby.


This I got way back last summer, when my mum bought it during a Chanel sale. Apparently the last one left!! Baik jua ampit! I luvs it! New design masih, so definitely not on the knock-off racks yet. Yucks! Hate that there're so many tiruan designer bags out there!! Diri membali mahal2.... urrrghhh! Peeves me right off!


And, this one, my love got me in Jeddah after Haj last December. Cost him a mighty bunch poor thing. Personally, I would've preferred the Canvas LV NeverFull PM at £305, much cheaper than this one, and ani macam banyak tiruan udah bah, but then, guys eh? What do they know... udah nyangku, jangan tah balikan apa2... but oh well, I still luvs it tho...thanks baby!


This here's what I got for my sis... my mom (again!) got it for me during her last trip to Singapore early January. I guess it was the cheapest designer shit I could get for her... but at $800, it's still quite a hefty chunk out of my cheese. But then, I feel guilty cos she's been getting me tons of cool stuff non-stop ever she's been in London, plus you the only sis I got Puks! Happy 33rd! Hope she likes it. I'll give it to her when we fly off to UK in March! Hooohooo! London here I come! Lama kali udah inda ke sana ah! Dari tahun 2002.... my mum said it was definitely high time to go.

Was initially planning to go in June/July, in time for fruit picking season, tapi gagas ku udah.. nda kenapa, miss my lil monkey, want to see him so bad! Quoting my mum, when they were last leaving;

The hubby of course can't wait to get his gobs around a Taza kebab. But I want to introduce him to the best shawarma I ever had on South Kensington, called Bhosporus Kebabs. Nyaman berabis ani bah! Damn.... sis-sia pun... sabar..... will be there in 42 days... alamak.. lama lagi lah.... What to wear? What to pack? What to do?
