Blood Transfusion.

Had to be in renal ward at 8am for a blood cross match. Since my Hb has gone way down to 5.0g/dl, I will need a blood transfusion.

Had trouble finding a vein in my hand, so after a couple of unsuccessful and not to mention painful pokes, decided to go for breakfast with my mom first since I hadn't eaten. We had dim sum, which was nice. I love dim sum.

After finally getting my iv line in, my transfusion of 2 units packed red cells started at 3pm. Finally finished at 10pm. Thankfully, I didn't have to spend the night at the hospital, but the nurses just warned me to go straight to the ER if I came down with a fever or rashes.

My Mom - The P.I.

OK....my mom, who had a dr's appointment at hospital this morning decided to play detective and managed to get a nurse to trace my blood results again. Apparently they'd input the wrong identity card number under my name, but the thing is, my nurse could've checked the results under my name before and saved us all this trouble. Sheesh!

Except now I'm a bit worried because my Haemoglobin levels are really low at 6.7g/dl, and that was almost 2 weeks ago! No wonder I've been feeling faint in the mornings! I thought I was just hypoglycaemic or something. Called the transplant coordinator, so she asked me to come into the clinic that afternoon for a blood test.

Hospital Appointment.

Man... I can't believe they are unable to trace my blood results! And to imply I didn't go for my blood test last week! Hello! I had to wake up at an unearthly hour just to beat the hospital queues to have my blood drawn as early as possible to enable me to take my 8am Tacrolimus dose. I even remember the guy who took my blood.

What a waste! Now I have to repeat the test, just because somebody somewhere was imcompetent! Arrggghh!!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Had a renal appointment at 11.15am. Doing well, although told the doctor that I'm concerned with my backache everytime I jog (ok, walk!) around the hills (ok, gentle slopes!).

He says, it's to be expected after the surgery. Yeah...I guess so. I don't go overboard though, I only started exercising for 15 minutes during the first week and been increasing it gradually every week. I'm doing 45 minutes to an hour low impact walks for 5 days a week now with my parents. Although I have to take rests when I feel my backache coming on.

Had dinner at I Lotus restaurant in the evening to celebrate with my family and my uncle and family.

Plus here're a couple of pressies of note:

Cakes Galore!

Decided to have 3 birthday celebrations in one, since, well, it's easier really.

Our niece's 1st - 4th February, her mom (my sister in law) - 7th February and mine - 8th February.

So my hubby and I got our niece another birthday cake, and my mom in law got cakes for my sister in law and me!
