IVIG Course - Day 3.

Back at the Haematology Centre at 9am. Thankfully, the nurse managed to get a line in relatively easily. Then it was a straight run until 1.30pm.

My hubby flew in today! In a much better mood! Gonna go out this whole weekend.

IVIG Course - Day 2.

At the hospital at 9am. Another hard time today. I do try to stay optimistic, but the tears just keep coming anyway.

After running the IVIG and the transfusion, we finish up around 4.30pm. Didn't feel like eating today.

IVIG Course - Day 1

So here I am back again at the Haematology Centre, having a hard time of it. The nurses really can't seem to be able to insert the iv line into my hand, so it takes SEVERAL attempts before they get one. I'm in tears by then, but I don't care, it too ******* hurts!!

Thankfully, Dr. Goh has decided to administer 24g IVIG per day, so that's only 2 bottles to run through each day, instead of the usual 5. At least it won't take as long, assuming my vein doesn't decide to act up. Sometimes, my vein just decides to collapse, so the nurse will have to poke me again to get a new line in. Plus the IVIG stuff is kinda viscous, so it does get stuck pretty easily.

I was supposed to have a blood transfusion today as well, but with all the difficulty getting a line in, there simply isn't enough time today.

Tuesdays With Dr. V.

Nope, no good news yet. Hb still slipping. It's 6.2g/dl this week. At least I should be thankful that my kidney is working fine (Creatinine at 90).

It's been more than 3 weeks since my last IVIG course. Dr. Goh has agreed with Dr. V. that my IVIG course should be repeated every 3 weeks until my bone marrow is up to speed.

Tuesdays With Dr. V.

My Hb is still going down, it's 7.6g/dl this week. Dr. V. did a little tweaking with my medications. Also need to ask her for a sponsorship letter cos we need to extend our passports before our visas expire this week.

Back To Singapore.

The past few days in KL flew by in a blur of shopping (of course), lunch invites, dinner invites and seafood meals. Talks of spooks and Akademi Fantasia 3.

Had to return before the Singapore High Comm. people realised we'd left the country without consent!!

Flying To Malaysia.

An early morning blood test before flying off to KL.

Apparently my mom managed to have an appointment set up with this Ustaz through her Malaysian cousin's contacts, bla, bla, bla.

Checked into the Ascott, had a quick lunch at this blah place. Then off to meet my mom's cousin at the Plaza Tol near Bangi. Then off to another relative, who then finally took us to this Ustaz' place.

Sat for awhile in his living room while he was tending to this other lady. Then, after telling him what my problem was he read a few surahs or whatever, gave me some water to drink and bathe with, then asked us to come back that night.

So drove back to the city, showered, had dinner, then drove back to the Ustaz' place. What happened that night was one of the single most strange things I'd ever experienced. I laugh about it now, but sitting there that night gave me the heebie jeebies so bad that I spent the rest of the nights in KL sleeping with my parents! It was something straight out of a horror movie man! I can't bring myself to write down what happened, but I'll never forget it.
